The Christmas season commences in Hollywood with tree lighting ceremony at Church of Scientology Los Angeles.
This past Friday there was excitement in the air! The balmy southern California temperatures had given way to a chilly nip. Twinkle lights glittered on greenery all up and down the street. Children chased each other playing tag, as parents gathered with hot cocoa and mingled, waiting for the big moment.
At the bottom of L. Ron Hubbard Way in East Hollywood stands a 60 foot tall Christmas tree, full of shiny ornaments and decorations. And, the moment had finally come for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting!
Roxanne Mele, the Public Affairs Director of the Church of Scientology of Los Angeles, addressed the crowd and shared words of celebration—commemorating this special holiday time with friends and family and celebrating helping others in the community.
And with that, Santa himself arrived! With his characteristic “Ho Ho Ho!” he greeted kids and adults alike, and on the count of three, the tree was lit brilliantly!
The entire community is welcome to join us, grab a hot cocoa and share in the magic of Christmas!
